Japan Journal

Your journal on geography is due tomorrow.  Please review the outline for the journal to be sure that you have included all of the requirements.  

Parent Volunteer Needed for June 3rd Kananaskis Trip

Good Morning Adults,

We are getting desperate for another parent volunteer for our water trip out to Kananaskis.  Our field trip is on June 3rd for the full school day.  If you are able to help out, and have your security check in place, we would love to have you join us.

Any outstanding forms & field trip ($10) money needs to be handed in as soon as possible.  Thank you.  I need to process the paper work before we head out so I would really appreciate receiving it early this week.

If you see a Math Links 8 or Science Focus 8 textbook around the house, could you please have your son or daughter return it to our classroom.  If textbooks are signed out, they need to be returned the next morning.  Thank you for your help with this.

Calendars and preliminary exam details were given out yesterday.  If you could support your child in trying to create a reasonable review schedule, that would be great.  Our performance based assessment dates will be June 17 & 18th.

Journal tidy up & some Math

Please pull together your Science journals.  Ensure there are no loose papers & please pep up all of your light activities.  Ensure that your Anne Davies rubric is complete & that you have been thoughtful with your feedback.

I will collect 5 journals per day for the next week(ish).

Science mid-unit assessment will be on Thursday next week.

Check in with your adults around family plans/activities etc.  We need to start a study schedule.

Curved mirror activities

Please have your 3 curved mirror activities completed for tomorrow (if possible...).

SMART file & research questions are attached in D2L under news.  Remember if you are opening a SMART file at home...enter Cougar Community shell and scroll down to 2012 to see the instructions from Mr. Moses.

I would really appreciate taking a handful of journals home each night starting on Monday.

Anne Davies rubric needs to be completed and all loose papers need to be organized & secured into your journals...perhaps a little TV time to get this done :)

Please start to prep for your Light & Optics mid-unit assessment covering topics 1-3.  Test will be next week...we will start investigating Refraction (topic 3) tomorrow.  Thinking the test will be on Wednesday next week.

Field trip forms for Kananaskis need to come in please & thank you.  We are desperate for parent volunteers.

We are working through 3 different activities for curved mirrors.  Research, lab work, smart board file...please work through the section that you received today.  This should be done for Friday.

-pep up your 3 reflection labs (for Wed)
-pep up & finish your Anne Davies formative assessment rubric (for Wed)
-mid-term for Light week of May 25th
-start to communicate with your adults around activities/family plans etc so we can start to prepare a year end study calendar....more information to follow

Remember to bring back your field trip forms & money for Kananaskis.  Thank you!!  We go on June 3rd.  Hope your adults can volunteer.

I think Math should be your priority tonight as we are nearing the end of our Algebra unit.
