River trip reminders

Please wish for warm tomorrow!

Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather tomorrow.  Lots of layers, water proof outer layer, warm jacket, gloves, hat, extra socks, old runners/rubber boots (which are the best).

*****extra socks is a great idea

Lots of lunch & snacks...you will expend a lot of energy outside tomorrow.  No access to microwaves/hot water etc.  Lots of water to keep hydrated.  No litter left behind...you will need to pack it out.

Technology on the bus only...use at your own risk...school will not be responsible for lost/stolen items.  Not earbuds etc during instructional (off the bus) time.  This is a safety issue.

Please look over the river vocab from today & ensure that you know the meaning of each word...you don't need to journal it up but must be aware of the words.  Thanks.

Bus leaves at 9:00 am...go to homeroom as normal then come up to Room 10 for Science with all your gear.  I will supply data sheets/pencils/etc for you.

We return at 2:30 pm so regular day for us.

Parent Volunteer Needed for June 3rd Kananaskis Trip

Good Morning Adults,

We are getting desperate for another parent volunteer for our water trip out to Kananaskis.  Our field trip is on June 3rd for the full school day.  If you are able to help out, and have your security check in place, we would love to have you join us.

Any outstanding forms & field trip ($10) money needs to be handed in as soon as possible.  Thank you.  I need to process the paper work before we head out so I would really appreciate receiving it early this week.

If you see a Math Links 8 or Science Focus 8 textbook around the house, could you please have your son or daughter return it to our classroom.  If textbooks are signed out, they need to be returned the next morning.  Thank you for your help with this.

Calendars and preliminary exam details were given out yesterday.  If you could support your child in trying to create a reasonable review schedule, that would be great.  Our performance based assessment dates will be June 17 & 18th.

I think that's all for now.  Thank you for all your support.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at mnkrushel@cbe.ab.ca.

Take care,
Marnie

Wow...am I ever impressed with your microscope skills!!  Was awesome to just listen to your comments today as you hunted for the unicellulars!  Great work--you make me proud.

Monday there was an open-book assessment on ratios/unit rates...these were marked and reviewed with students on Tuesday.

Please check in on your converting between fractions/decimals/percents etc...we have been reviewing this very important skill set for the last couple of days.  Today, students were asked, via an exit slip, for their honest opinion as to how they were feeling with these conversions.  If you have a chance to check in with your adults around this important issue, please have the conversation...your adults would love to hear how you are feeling about your Math.  Adults, thanks for your support around this.

Take care...not quite sure what our afternoon will be like tomorrow with the online awareness presentation but we'll be flexible and see how the day flows.
