Math & Science update

Hi Everybody,

Multiplying fraction quizzes were handed back today & reviewed as a class.

We worked again on the Learn Alberta Buoyancy gizmo.  Please put this to the side tonight and we will walk slowly through buoyancy tomorrow as a class.

Short version...take the evening off & we'll pull it together tomorrow :)

Today we worked on a Archimedes' Principle Gizmo through Learn Alberta.  Students had the opportunity to check their stock portfolios & make trades.

Please ensure that your integer Math review from the board is complete.  If you missed class last Thursday, please find a friend and get the questions from them.  Thanks.

Science procedure update

Please ensure that your density procedure is shared with me via google mail at mnkrushel@educbe.ca or completed on separate paper to be handed in tomorrow.  Typed or hand written in pen is fine.

I will away tomorrow afternoon at a meeting.

BOYS' NIGHT THIS THURSDAY NOV 27TH 5:45-8:30 PM

Boys' night is happening this Thursday evening.  Looks fantastic with an amazing guest speaker and a great workout opportunity!  Gentlemen, bring your dad, step-dad, grampa, brother, uncle, or other male role model and join us for a great evening.  Please RSVP to hdcartwright@cbe.ab.ca.

Humanities

Just a reminder that we are going to Cardel on Monday and to bring your gym strip and the appropriate equipment and clothes for the activities you signed up for.  Don't forget your snacks and a water bottle...there is a place to buy food but we only have 25 minutes for lunch so you may want to bring a lunch instead.
Remember to review one of the city states for our journal assignment on Tuesday and to review everything we have done, to prepare for your quiz on Thursday.

The novel, A Company of Fools by Debra Ellis was a good illustration of the the middle ages and the impact of the black plague on the worldview of the people in Europe at that time. Be sure to complete your summary of the novel for tomorrow.  We will be continuing on our investigation of the Italian City States and trade.

Another great day with the density activities & stock trading simulation!

Your density activities will be due next Thursday so please adjust your homework load accordingly.  We will get another 4 groups through the lab hopefully tomorrow if the assembly doesn't run late.

You will have a math review on fractions to complete over the long weekend.

Hi Everybody,

Sorry for the late post...

I was very impressed by your contributions in class today around our intro to density!!!  Fantastic work!  We will jump into labs/activities tomorrow.

You were all so engaged in researching stocks today it was wonderful.  We will start trading in the morning.  Hopefully you will start to listen to the business reports on the news or pick up the newspaper and flip to the business section.  Ask your adults for guidance/thoughts/hints/tips etc and continue to research your stocks to ensure that you are making the best decisions for your trades & portfolio!

I'm not sure we will have much time together on Friday as the Remembrance Day assembly will fall during our block rotation.  We will need to be flexible around this and perhaps pick up a bit of extra homework load this weekend.
